February 2019 Wazzup? Family Newsletter

Hello everyone!

While in Switzerland I met one of Sabrina and Christopher's friends, Brenda Bradshaw. She and her husband were wonderful hosts to us.  On a Friday Brenda taught us to ski!  On Saturday Scott took us to the temple, a chocolate factory and a town where cheese comes from called Gruyere.  Brenda stayed home that day partly to write a family newsletter she had been doing since she was 16 years old!  I was inspired!  I remembered this blog I started awhile ago and decided to revive it for use as our way to celebrating one another.  I love you.

This is Sabrina and I at the Swiss Temple in Bern.  It is the first temple in Europe, built in the 1950's.

Some thoughts I want to share with you:

D&C 88:63 "Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

No matter where we are in our lives, our Heavenly Father is always a prayer, a yearning of the heart, away.  He may not always answer right away or in a way we expect.  But I know He is always listening and that He loves us.

D&C 88:64 "Whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name it shall be given unto you, that is expedient for you:"

He will answer our pleas if they are what is good for us. We may not always know what that is.  We are growing and learning.  Heavenly Father is patient with us.  We can be wayward in our desires sometimes.  Still, He loves us and grants us according to our righteous desires, as is "expedient" for us.

Miracles and Blessings to note:

Aaron and Brittany got Anakin back after he had been missing for a few weeks.  It was a miracle and answer to prayer that he had sought refuge in a warehouse and was connected back to Brittany and Aaron via facebook posts! Penelope and Adeline are sublimely adorable. That's all I have to say about that.

Eduardo had been thinking about transferring to Yorba Linda High School for a few weeks.  I have prayed about it and feel that it is a good idea.  I believe he has been guided by the spirit to know what will help his life.  I filled out the request and we are waiting to find out if it is approved.  The spirit can guide us to know what directions to go.

Cassie was asked to photograph Brendon's proposal to Chelsea, a childhood friend. Cassie has been a true and loving friend to Chelsea since they were children.  This was another moment when she selflessly loved her friend.  Cassie is a contact example of to me of what it means to follow Christ.  Cassie was able to be here while Sabrina is here for a job. They have been reconnecting.  It is fun to have them home for a little bit of time.

Amanda was awarded a full scholarship for this semester.  She had helped recruit a male cheerleader to the team last fall for which the coach had promised a 25% scholarship.  Amanda was courageous and asked the coach about it this semester.  He agreed to apply for it and asked for a greater award which was approved last week.  I know has been blessed for her obedience and hard work.  Colton is in California trying to build a future.  He is a hard worker and we appreciate him.

Sabrina and Christopher were so kind to have me in Switzerland. It was so fun to see that country.   I learned that Sabrina and I both love to read every little plaque in the museum. We had a wonderful time learning about the Chillon Castle, Queen (the band)  and the history and art of Geneva.  I also enjoyed being able to go into the United Nations for a forum on non-profit work around the world.  A representative from church was there to talk about LDS Charities.  We can be very proud of the work done with our fast offerings. We are also very proud of Chris and Bri.  Chris is enjoying the slower pace at the UN.  Bri is still back and forth, blessed with plenty of work in the US.

Grandma still has her wits, goes to the gym twice a week, keeps the kitchen clean and the floor swept.  At 90 years old everyday like that is a miracle.

Dad and I are together.  That's a miracle, ahaha, and a blessing.

We both love you each one very much....

 to pieces.

♥️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
